My story
I was 17 when my first cyst appeared and was dismissed as "an ingrown hair". It took years, dozens of doctors, and two new words, Hidradenitis Suppurativa, to name what was happening to me. It took several more years to learn that even though HS is a chronic condition, there was still a great deal I could do to help manage it.
In this section, I share the whole journey: the misdiagnoses, repeated courses of antibiotics, the isotretinoin that made everything worse for me, and the day I came across another patient's story and decided to explore nutrition. This is not a promise of a cure. It is simply what happened to me, documented step by step.

Frequently asked questions
Can Hidradenitis Suppurativa be cured?
HS is currently considered a chronic condition, and there is no definitive cure. Remission is possible, however, including long periods without new lesions. I have been in remission for years, which I associate with changes to my diet and lifestyle, but this remains my personal experience. Everyone's situation is different and should be discussed with a doctor.
How long did it take me to see results?
In my case, I noticed the first signs of improvement after several weeks on the AIP protocol, but reaching stable remission took months of consistency with nutrition, supplements, and stress management. It is not a quick process, and results vary from person to person.
Where should I start if I have just been diagnosed?
Start by learning about the condition: read what HS is and how it is classified, then explore my story to see one real-life journey, followed by the section on the nutrition protocol. Most importantly, find a dermatologist who understands Hidradenitis Suppurativa well. It can make a real difference.
